1910, The Earl van Citters

Engelenburg was rebuilt to a summer residence when Jonkheer van Citters bought the castle in the 19th century. He was appointed Governor of Gelderland and, to make his home suitable as offices,the homestead was extended to accommodate official functions. After the Second World War Engelenburg was bought by ABN bank and used as a holiday destination for their staff.
